While researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology have broken the speed record for silicon chips, with a frozen chip clocking in at over 500GHz, Nanowire technology promises to move those little electrons at even more impressive speeds in the very near future. Personally, I can't wait.

Artificial 3D Object Identification.

According to KurtzweilAI, a breakthrough has been made in the realm of object identification in three dimensions using artificial intelligence. This is pretty exciting stuff. Automation of the mundane, here we come.

Google Spreadsheets.

If you haven't signed up for the google spreadsheet trial, now's the time. I was using iRows before, but I think I'll be switching to this. iRows has more features, but this is more stable overall. Google's version is limited to a pretty small number for now, so get it while it's hot.
